Evan Update
It seems that Eli has been receiving a lot of attention lately because of his age and what is going on in his life- lots of new things for him and us (preschool, sports, etc). Just because Evan is our 2nd child and we have been through a lot of 'firsts' already, it is still just as special. And his personality is as different from Eli's as they come, so it makes it a different experience for us all! Evan is at a pretty fun and active age right now- 18 months. The little guy does not stop moving. He will not sit still to watch TV, he cannot sit in a stroller or shopping cart for very long (making trips out very difficult, yet I still do often) and high chairs are too confining for him. He will try to climb out of everything that he's strapped in to..he's too busy for that nonsense. Ev is going through an age right now where he's trying to be independent, yet can't communicate well enough to get across his wants and needs. As a result, he gets frustrated and hits, kicks, and screams. I find humor in the fact that he'll get mad and make the trip to the washing machine and hit it. I guess because it makes a loud sound?? It cracks me up though. We were a little worried about Evan's communication because he really wasn't saying much for a long time. However, he hit 17 months and the words came fast! He probably has 30 words right now, with some very common ones being: Bear (he sings this..very cute), please (sounds like Bees), Uh-Oh, Yummy, Elmo, water (wa-wa), Bye-Bye, Milk, and even Amen! Something funny is that Evan says Skyline, which is the name of his favorite restaurant. Not sure if that's cute or embarrassing. Evan is obsessed with rocks and would play for hours in our driveway picking them up and handing them to us. Although Eli and him fight all the time already, there is no one that can make Evan laugh more than his big brother. And you should hear that full-belly laugh! It is the best.
