We proudly welcome Lila Jo Showalter!

She's here!
We were blessed with a beautiful, perfect baby girl!  Our hearts are so full with love.  What a feeling.

Getting ready for surgery:

Lila was born via C-section and unfortunately had to spend a little bit of time in the NICU because of breathing difficulties. We were relieved that her stay there was pretty short (24 hr).  She has been doing great and came home healthy!

Me, on the other hand, had some unfortunate complications.   During the surgery, the OB nicked my bladder, which had been 'stuck' to my uterus and abdominal wall from previous C-section scar tissue.  Unfortunately, that resulted in them needing to repair my bladder and me having to wear a catheter for 10 days. I pray that after these 10 days are over that I won't have further problems.  Also, after the surgery they had a hard time getting my core temperature up, so I had to stay in recovery for several hours and didn't get to hold my sweet baby until later that afternoon.  That was the longest day of my life!

Out of the NICU and reunited with Mommy...oh what Joy!

Finally going home!

And here she is at home!  We can't get over all of that dark brown hair!  It has an old man pattern too, which is just hilarious. Lila is just amazing. Welcome to our family!
