Halloween 2010

We had a lot of fun on Halloween weekend this year! We went trick or treating on Saturday and Sunday (see below). Eli was so excited to wear his costume and Evan was excited to get it off! :) Evan just hung out in the stroller and watched all of the crazy people go by. He did great! On both occasions of trick or treating, it took Eli a little while to warm up to the scene and crowds. He was terrified of the 'scary' costumes and a few stopped him dead in his tracks. Overall, he had a great time and he even helped us pass out candy (sneaking some in his bucket when he thought we weren't looking).

Cute, cute, cute!! I love these pictures of Eli in his Woody costume. I really thought we would see a million kids in this costume, but we hardly saw any! You wouldn't believe the reaction and attention Eli received because of it too. It was so surprising! We heard "Woody!!!" about a dozen times on both days we were out in costume. He was a big hit.

Trick or treating in our neighborhood is nuts. There are so many kids that everyone sits in their driveways and passes out candy. People have little heaters, coffee and hot chocolate, and make it a party! There is no knocking on doors or ringing door bells..kids just walk right up to you. Many just stare at you waiting for you to fill their bags with candy. I personally just stare back until they say the magic words. hehe! It is a lot of fun, but still a bit hard to accept. Cory and I both miss the old fashioned style of trick or treating!

Crestview Hills Town Center (outdoor mall) had a Halloween day for kids on Saturday with trick or treating, face painting, an appearance by Scooby, and firemen with their trucks. Cory was working, so I brought the boys. I was impressed! Eli was dying to visit the firemen and sit in the trucks, but it took about 25 minutes for him to work up the nerve. Once there, he loved it! He got to sit in a "really BIG fire engine" (as Eli put it) and "drive" an ambulance.
